The forward Jakub Demet who acquired 5 Canadian points in 6 matches (1 goal and 4 assistances) became the awarded best player in October.  The forward Patrik Kane from Chicago Blackhawks is a model for this promising 14-year-old player.

Jakub Demek, the HC Košice Cadets forward: "This award is unexpected.  I was surprised and it means much to me, as this is my first success in this area.  I believe that I will move forward in my career and in the future, I will play for HC Košice A Team.  Furthermore, I would like to try other top European leagues, e.g. the Swedish league."

YOUTH TEAM

In 8 matches in October, the HC Košice youth team was successful in half of them - 4 matches. Even though they were successful in the initial double round, they lost with their rivals from Bratislava and Skalica in their home matches. In the match with Nitra they failed again in the penalty shots but they caught their winning wave again in the match with Trnava and they won 5:4.  During the last October weekend, the toss has decided on their opponents from the Northern Slovakia.  First, they lost in match with Žilina Wolfs 3:4, but in the match with Martin they were excellent and won 4:0.

Our youth team is on the 5th place in the Kaufland Extra League, but they have 34 points, only 4 less than the leader - Dukla Trenčín.   The forwarder Samuel Nagy, the award winner in the youth category in September, remains a leader in the number of Canadian points.  Patrik Frič with balance 2+4 after 8 matches is on the second place.

The defender Tomáš Veteška was awarded as the best player of October in the youth team.  His idols are forward Alexander Ovechkin from Washington Capitals and defender Erik Karlsson from Ottawa Senators. And his favorite team - Philadelphia Flyers - is also overseas.

Tomáš Veteška, the defender of HC Košice youth team: "I appreciate this award and I´m glad. My goal in the future is HC Košice senior team.

JUNIOR TEAM

The beginning of new month was not very successful for HC Košice juniors - they acquired only 3 points in 4 matches. However, after loss with Žilina 1:5 a first 3-point victory with juniors from Martin followed. In the last 2-round in October, they defeated juniors from Banská Bystrica and Zvolen. Therefore, the team of the coach Miroslav Marcinko is on the 3rd place with 28 points which means a 12-pint loss in comparison with Dukla Trenčín on the second place. Even in this age category there is no change in the leader of the stats of our team as Filip Hudák remains the leader.   The center of the second forward line who was already playing in the senior league has 7 goals and 8 assistances in his statistics.  We believe in his excellent shape in the future.
