Košice players entered the match better. By three won bullies they settled in their opponent's zone, but anyway, they did not threaten Hackett’s net a lot. Afterwards Koch managed to shoot, but his shot was just in time blocked on the rear barrier. Then the puck ricochet towards Miklík, but he did not home in the unguarded part of the net so he did not send Košice to lead. Three minutes later Boltun failed to notice the puck after Šedivý’ try. Should he have done it, the Steelers could have enjoyed the first goal. But it did not happen even after Hričina's chance. He skated in front of Hackett, who covered the attempt of our forward and then the structure of his net had to help him. So after 20 minutes of the game the score was still 0:0.

The beginning of the middle part of the match belonged to the home team of Detva, who gained their chance with three players. During outnumbering 3:2 Kuklev had a chance, but he was not able to surprise Habal. Four minutes later also Videlka tried, nevertheless also in this case the Czech goalman playing for Košice was more successful. On the other side Klíma was shooting, but he also did not enjoy the wishful precise hit. Only in the 39th minute Šedivý managed to score. By his shot from the blue line he did not give a chance to Hackett to succeed and the team of Košice was leading 1:0 after 40 minutes of the game.

In the beginning of the third period Detva continued with their power play, and this was the time when the home team had the greatest chance in the match. We saw a good hit of Belluš, but he hit just the structure of Habal's net. On the other side Klíma had a chance to score, but in the last possible moment Fekiač destroyed his effort so there was no goal also in this case. Also Pacan was not successful, he diverted Spilar's puck well, but directly against the body of Matthew Hackett. But Jenčík managed to score. During the power play he used a messy situation during the power play and placed the puck to the net of Detva. In the last possible second also Róth scored, who changed the score to 1:2 in terms of Detva. After the victory 2:1 we added three points to the chart.
