ADDED: 18.2.2020

Yesterday we presented directly on the Cube during the match Košice – Budapest (5:1) the latest acquisition of the Steelers, coming from KHL. Offensive of Košice should gain momentum thanks to the arrival of Russian Denis Paršin with a contract valid until April 30, 2020. Today Denis completed his first training with the Steelers in Steel Arena; he will have prepared the jersey with number 27 for the matches.

The experienced wing forward will be engaged outside Russia for the first time in his career. In the jersey of KHL he has played in 654 matches with the balance of 382 Canadian points gained for 170 goals and 212 assistances. 34-year old Russian legionnaire played in the domestic competition in the jerseys of CSKA Moskva, Salavat Yulaev Ufo, Torpedo Nižnij Novgorod, Avangard Omsk and last time also of Metallurg Magnitogorsk. In 2004 he was also drafted to NHL, when he was selected by Colorado from the 72nd place. Also, in the same year, he enjoyed the title of the World Champions with the Russian National Team of up to18-year-old players.

HC Košice Sports Director Jan Šťastný: “We highly appreciate that we agreed cooperation with Denis. All people moving within professional hockey and watching KHL know that he is a very experienced forward who still played alongside Mozjakin in Magnitogorsk at the beginning of the season. We believe that by engaging Denis we acquired a player who can make use of the chance and we believe that his high potential can be a great advantage in the game, which is an aspect that will certainly be critical in the play-off. Of course, it also depends on how fast he adapts himself to the Slovak Tipsport Extra League, but everyone in our organization agree that it is a good decision for us and for our team.

Good luck, Denis, and feel at home with us!
