Three matches are waiting for The Steelers this week. The first one will take place on our home ice rink on Tuesday, when the foreplay of the "Olympic" round is on program, that is to say, the portion of the matches put off due to the Olympic games. The team MHK 32 Liptovský Mikuláš is about to come to Steel Arena for the last time in the basic part. Do not miss the opportunity to see it!

On Sunday, the guys from Liptov lost against Detva, the newcomers to the competition, with final score 3:6, despite the fact that they were leading in the match 1:0 and later 2:1. From the cadre of our Tuesday opponent, the Olympic nominee Matúš Súkeľ and another forward Patrik Števuliak managed to score (Súkeľ overcame goalie Hackett two times) no one else was successful. Liptovský Mikuláš won only 4 of the overall 9 January matches, and therefore it dropped to the 9th place in the extra league table, which doesn't ensure the advance into the playoff. The team of Pavol Paukovček has scored 43 points and at loses 5 points to the 8th position of Nové Zámky.

The top team ranking position belongs to the team captain Marek Uram. Unfortunately, his injury from the match against Žilina still prevents him from plying (broken arm) and his team obviously misses him. The 2002 World Champion managed to acquire 29 Canadian points for 8 goals and 21 assists in the up-to-now matches. The forward Matúš Súkeľ occupies the second position, with his 26 points. At the same time, the recent Olympian is the team's best striker, as he managed to place the puck into the net of the opponent 16 times in The Tipsport league.

When it comes to defense men, another former representative, Radoslav Suchý, is getting along the best. High-experienced end-man helped out his team with his 1 goal and 15 assists. 23–years-old Andrej Košarišťan has been demonstrating good performance for a long time. A native of Dolný Kubín performed in 38 matches, in which his success rate climbed up to 92,34 % and he managed to keep his clean sheet in 3 matches. In the last few matches Juraj Hollý has proven his place among the 3 poles. He has got through 6 starts in this season in the top hockey competition with success rate of 91,26 %.

2017/2018 season has brought 5 matches between Košice and Liptovský Mikuláš. Our players brought 3 victories. One of them took place on the home ice rink ending with score 3:2 after individual shootouts, ant 2 other victories in Liptov with equal result 4:2. On the other hand, the players of Liptovský Mikuláš managed to bring home a victory after individual shootouts in the 2nd round already and later in their home town with final score 5:3.
