Hockey club of Košice agreed on cooperation with the Czech Coach Roman Šimíček. We asked the chief executive of the club, Rastislav Rusič, about the details of the contract:

Mr. Rusič, when and under what circumstances was the contract made? Did you have any other candidates for the coach position?
Rastislav Rusič: "Following the year's beginning coach switch, we listed more candidates, regardless of their current availability. Since we were considering cooperation beyond current season, we didn't want to be limited just to the available coaches. The list kept narrowing, along with the discussions on the suitability of the candidates. One of the top candidates was Roman Šimíček, who knew about our interest and accepted the future cooperation. That's why we contacted him right after his functioning in Znojm ceased."

Would our current coaches finish the actual season, if Mr. Šimíček did not terminate his cooperation with his present team?
"From the very beginning, our goal was to boost the realization team. Our potential coaches had their contracts signed, and we respected thiat. That's why, we had alternatives prepared till the end of the season."

What is the duration of the contract with Roman Šimíčk?
„In this moment, the contract duration is set till the end of the current season, but as it results from the aforementioned, as soon as Roman Šimíček arrives in Košice, we will re-discuss it properly."

Do you know anything about the next functioning of the present duo Marcel Šimurda – Peter Bartoš?
„Time has shown, that Marcel Šimurda has proved himself to be a very capable coach, what made our situation much complicated, in the very best sense. For this reason, we did not necessarily have to find a new main coach, we'd rather inclined to the solution to balance the duo and to reinforce it. That is why, choosing the new member of our team of coaches, we considered not only the professional aspect, but also the mental, relational aspect and not to forget the team chemistry. Roman Šimíček and Marcel Šimurda will become equal partners forming a balanced duo, and I believe, that it won't take too long until they find a way of communication and responsibility.

When does Roman Šimíček join the realization team?
„He will accompany our present coaches on the Friday's match in Trenčín,“ the chief executive of HC Košice Rastislav Rusič added to finish the interview.
