The basic part is approaching its finish and our hockey-players are facing important matches one after another. With the hockey-players of Nitra we will play our last mutual match of the basic part on March 4. On Tuesday, March 6 we will welcome the Rams from Banská Bystrica on our own ice-rink.

The current champions lost it on Friday 2:4 with Zvolen, when only Hrnka and Hohmann scored. On Sunday, March 4 they will play at home against the newcomers from Detva. Currently the Rams from Banská Bystrica are on the 3rd position of the Extra-league chart with 103 points.

With 45 Canadian points on the top of productivity of Banská Bystrica is their defender Cason Hohmann. The American native played 47 matches in this season and shot 14 goals and passed for 31 goals. Besides that, he played in Bratislava in the All-star match, where he was announced as the most effective player of the tournament. Two points less has Éric Faille, forward from Canada. In 51 matches his balance is 19 goals and 24 assistances. The same number of points has the Canadian Josh Brittain. The Slovak leader among defenders is Ján Brejčák. This native from Poprad played in this season 35 matches only, but he collected 14 points for 6 goals and 8 assistances.

In the net of the Rams a better performance has the Czech Ján Lukáš. He led 18 matches of 25 to the winning end and his success rate is on the level of 93.35 %. The Finnish Teemu Lassila, world champion from the year 2011, played 28 matches, where he maintained his success rate on the level of 91.66%.

The hockey players of Banská Bystrica will travel to Košice for the last time within the basic part. During the previous course of this season they met with the Steelers five times already and four times they were successful. We lost it on their ice-rink 1:2, 3:5, and 2:5, but we did not use the advantage of playing at home also in the 31st round and we lost the match with the current Slovak champions 2:4. Our only victory over Banská Bystrica was in the 13th round, when in Steel Arena we were enjoying our victory 5:2.

Our fans can expect several surprises during this match.
